Psalm 27:8-10 “YOU have said, “Seek MY face”. My heart says to YOU, “YOUR face, Lord, do I seek”. Hide not YOUR face from me. Turn not your servant away in anger, O YOU who have been my help. Cast me not off; forsake me not, O God of my salvation! For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will take me in.”
1. What distractions tempt you when facing Dark Night of the Soul issues?
2. Are you actively and intimately responding to the Lord’s call to “Seek MY face”? If so, what opposition opposes your seeking? If you are not seeking, what is holding you back?
3. Can you identify with any of the Psalmist’s fears? IE: Feeling the Lord is hiding HIS face from you; HE is turning away in anger over your sin; He might abandon you or cast you off in some way?
4. How can the faith statements sandwiched in between the fear pleas in these verses strengthen you to persevere in seeking the Lord? IE: YOU who have been my help; O God of my salvation; but the Lord will take me in….
